A Minor Setback

One of the last procedures before beginning the IVF process is a test called a trial transfer. This procedure is kinda like a practice round. It gives the doctor a chance to measure the position and depth of the uterus in preparation for the transfer of the embryos. This way he knows exactly where he is going on the day of the transfer. During this procedure the doctor noticed something about my uterine cavity. It appeared that I had some excess tissue in the middle of my cavity that would cause an embryo to float to one side or the other instead of right in the middle where it belongs. He suggested a minor surgery to remove this excess tissue. He explained that removing this tissue does not increase our chances of getting pregnant but it would greatly decrease the chance of a miscarriage if we did become pregnant. This being said we decided that we should go through with the surgery so everything would be good as it could be. My biggest concern was how much this would set us back. Dr. Williams said if we timed everything right with my cycles that hopefully it would only set us back a month. My surgery was scheduled for June 2nd.
