First look at Baby Manning August 24th 2009

We had our first ultrasound on Monday August 24th. I was very excited but also very nervous. I had known that I was pregnant now for over 3 weeks and had yet to experience any symptoms. I was so afraid that they were going to give me bad news, I made myself sick over it. Jay was very excited and positive as usual. I had read that this early in the pregnancy you should be able to at least see a heartbeat but not necessarily hear it. They started the ultrasound with just image and showed us the little peanut looking image that was our baby, then they showed us a little pulsing dot that was the heartbeat but then with no warning they went to sound and loud and clear you could hear Baby Manning's heartbeat. It was the best sound we ever heard. I think we were both in awe and shock at that moment. The heartbeat was 156 beats per minute and our little peanut was 1.25 cm long. I could listen to that heartbeat everyday. Another exciting part of this doctor visit was a due date. They gave us an official due date of April 9, 2010.
